The Lokpal Bill is propose for the anti-corruption law design to deter corruption, this would be an independent body like the Election Commission of India. It is an independent body that could investigate corruption related cases, will complete the investigation within a year and with the power to investigate politicians and take actions without prior government permission.
Salient features:
1. It is an institution called LOKPAL in the centre and in each state LOKAYUKTA will be set up .
2. It is completely independent of the governments like Supreme Court and Election Commission of India. No ministries will be able influence the investigations.
3. Investigations will be completed within one year in any case. Trial would be complete in next one year.
